1. With the exception of Ballantrae, detailed boundaries of rural settlements are not provided at the upper-tier level, lower tier mapping was used as an alternative. 2. Insufficient detail was available in the 2012 York Region Official Plan to delineate Hamlet boundaries outside the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan; the lower-tier plan was therefore used for these Hamlets. 3. The boundaries of Nobleton, Maple Lake Estates, Pefferlaw, Sutton, and Vaughan were only conceptually identified on the 2009 York Region Official Plan. While the settlement area boundaries of these communities vary between the 2009 plan and the 2012 plan, it was assumed that no boundary expansion occurred in these settlements. The difference in the mapping was that a conceptual boundary was changed to a more precise boundary. 4. The Hamlet of Eversley was not mapped as a settlement area because it is not identified in any official plan documents. 5. Some settlement are identified on the upper-tier plan, other settlements were identified using the lower-tier plans. |
