Marcy Burchfield, Executive Director of the Neptis Foundation appeared on the TVO show The Agenda with Steve Paikin to discuss transit equity and the question of whether public transit is similar to a social service or a public utility.
Appearing with Burchfield on the show, broadcast on 12 January 2017, was Richard Joy of the Urban Land Institute, planning consultant Sean Hertel and Toronto Star columnist Martin Regg Cohn who writes about provincial politics in Ontario.

The show included a wide ranging discussion about transit equity including a recent initiative by the City of Toronto called the Fair Pass program which tries to bring transit fare equity for low-income Torontonians. Also discussed was the the question of whether a Metrolinx plan to build an electrified Regional Express Rail network would help the Toronto region with general mobility and the mobility of people with low incomes in particular.
