Pickering Airport Lands

The Federal Airport Lands consist of 7,350 hectares of lands in the municipalities of Pickering, Markham, and Uxbridge that were expropriated by the Government of Canada in 1972 and reserved for the site of an international airport that was not built. The lands are still rural and some are within a Prime Agricultural Area. The lands are the subject of federal government studies.
